When you have a project where one of the inputs is ‘’fluffy green!’’ you know you are in for something fun. Our faithful client of many years, Kanozi Arkitekter, gave us the task of bringing out a fun, yet serene atmosphere in a very active part of the town of Malmo, Sweden. It wasn’t a big mystery to us, when it came to determining the atmospheric direction, since we have a lot of experience with Kanozi, as well as Swedish artistic sensibilities in general.

The Neighbourhood

This residential neighbourhood has impressively modern architecture with a lot of greenery, fluffy greenery to be exact, and attractive cafes, shops and wide walking areas with bicycle paths. What is distinctive in this project is that the atmosphere shows a lively group of people, however we wanted to bring out that feeling of a weekend morning that has a calm energy about it. Casual in nature, the images themselves are very family-oriented with a lot of children playing in the greenery and just enjoying their surroundings. As for the architecture, you can certainly see that this is a very modern part of town with an eco-friendly feel, since the exterior is practically paved in green.

The Materials

The materials implemented in the project have a lot of natural elements, such as stone facades and walking areas. Even the facades that are glass are reflective of the stone facades so you have that feeling of being on a rocky hill top, as appose to an urban jungle.

The Result
The Result

Kanozi gave us very straight forward inputs that were easy to follow, with a detailed moodboard so we’ve had no problems with quickly getting to the final result. It was a no brainer. All we had to do is to ask ourselves – what would I do on a lovely Saturday morning in this beautiful town?
